De Gea Shines in Serie A, Crystal Palace Struggling and Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid?

Take a look at this week's highlights!

Made in Spain, Shining in Italy

Former Manchester United goalkeeper has a sensational start of the season at Fiorentina, after not playing for an entire year. De Gea joined La Viola this summer, as a free agent. He was kicked out after 12 years at Manchester United and spent a season without playing. De Gea already had some amazing performances with the Firenze team, but against AC Milan he defended two penalties and had many important saves.

As he himself said, “Started in Spain, made in Manchester, loving it in Italy 💜.”.

Crystal Palace is Struggling

The start of the season has not been kind to The Eagles. They are yet to get a win in Premier League. Losing Michael Olise and Andersen this summer are part of the problem, but Palace is not yet functioning with a back three. Although summer transfers strengthened the centre back depth available to Glasner, he has only two wing-backs at his disposal.

They struggle in aerial duels and against through balls, but they also are one of the worst underperformers related to their xG. Yet there is hope for the Palace. Eberechi Eze is in the top three shooters in the League, and Jean-Philippe Mateta is in a significant form, albeit without taking a proper summer break.

Incoming Transfer For Liverpool’s Star?

Trent Alexander-Arnold is in his last year of contract with Liverpool. So far, there is no news of a renewal. Real Madrid is rumoured to look at a potential transfer, but so far there are no guarantees or anything more than rumours.

But, this is an excellent opportunity to look at what Trent Alexander-Arnold could bring to Real Madrid, how would he fit into Ancelotti’s team and who would he replace at Los Blancos!

Rivalries and Comparisons

Rivalries are a core part of football, and with any rivalry come biased comparisons. One of the recent trends I have seen on social media is comparing Cole Palmer and Bukayo Saka.

Since both of them are key players in their teams, it is only natural for fans to argue about which one of them is the best. But if you take a step back, you might notice that the comparisons make little sense. They play distinct positions, under different managers with contrasting philosophies.
